You’ll Reap What You Sow

Galatians 6:7-9 (ESV)

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.  For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.  And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

II Corinthians 9:6 (ESV)

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

It’s great to remember this principle that we will reap what we sow.  The more time and effort we pour into different pursuits in our lives, the more we will get out of them.  The more we pour into our work, the more we will get out of it.

II Timothy 2:6 (ESV)

It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.

We don’t want to get deceived into thinking we should try to get something for nothing.  We want to earn the things that we receive.

II Timothy 2:15 (ESV)

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

We want to do our best in the work that we do, so that we have nothing to be ashamed of.
