John 19:28-30
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
When Jesus Christ was on the cross, right before he died, he said “It is finished”. He completed all the work that was necessary to redeem man, there’s nothing we need to do to complete it.
Hebrews 10:10-14
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.
By Jesus Christ’s one offering, the offering of his own body on the cross, he has perfected us forever!
Colossians 2:9-10
9 For in him (Christ) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
We are complete in Christ. There’s nothing more we need to do to gain righteousness, to gain salvation, to gain redemption, Jesus Christ did all that needed to be done.
I Corinthians 3:21-23
21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;
23 And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
