Be at Peace

II Corinthians 13:11(WT) – Finally, brothers, farewell. Be fully equipped. Be encouraged. Think the same. Be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

At the end of the book of II Corinthians, we are commanded to be at peace.

Isaiah 26:3 – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

As we keep our minds stayed on God, God will keep us in perfect peace.

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus Christ told his disciples he was giving his peace to them. We can live with his peace, and not let our hearts be troubled or afraid.

Psalm 46:1-3, 10a

1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah…

10a …Be still, and know that I am God…

Because God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, we can be still, we can rest and relax.

Matthew 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

In Christ we can have rest. We can relax and be at peace, rather than being full of tension. We can have an easy yoke, rather than being weighed down by heavy burdens.
