Recently, while I was reading in I Timothy 3 about the requirements for overseers and ministers, I found a great clue on how to build confidence and boldness.
I Timothy 3:13
For those who serve well as deacons(ministers) gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
It is by serving well that we can gain great confidence in the faith, in believing! One might think that they should wait until they have confidence or boldness before attempting to minister to others. However, it is as we get busy ministering, or serving, that we build confidence. Even people who aren’t necessarily Christians will tell you that if you lack confidence, you should do hard things to build confidence.
Proverbs 16:3
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
We don’t necessarily need to try to straighten out our thoughts before we do what God’s Word tells us to do. Rather, once we do what God’s Word tells us to do, then our thoughts will be straightened out.
